6th Landwehr

Ive been working on my prussians of late and now have two full Brigades finished. Thats half way to my ultimate goal of completing Yorck's corps in 1813. Im going to post pictures of all the units at some point. The first is the 6th Silesian Landwehr regiment. It has yellow collar/cuffs and different coloured straps for each battalion - white, red, yellow, light blue. Ive given one of the battalions pikes for their first rank. This would not be the case by the later battles but I likes the idea anyway :)

battle of loewenberg 21 aug 1813 – 2nd brig schweidnitz battalion fought beyond all expectations like old line troops attacked enemy twice with bayonet stopped them breaking out of plagwitz – retreated in good order only once all ammunition ran out. Digby-Smith writes: "The Prussian Landwehr received their baptism of fire at Lowenberg. The Schweidnitz battaalion braved canister fire and threw the enemy back at the point of the bayonet. They were only taken out of the line when they ran out of ammunition, and when they marched past Yorck he had his line regiments oresent arms to them. Blucher wrote: 'At first it was only so-so with the Landwehr battalions, but now that they've had a good taste of powder, they're as good as the line battalions.

Your Silesian Landwehr Figures look great. Regarding Battle of Loewenburg Peter Hofschroer in Osprey guide 192 says that the Schweidnitz Battalion, which fought so well there, acting as part of the vanguard, was part of the 5th Silesian Landwehr Regt (not 6th). Possibly there is amix up somewhere between Regt and brigade numbers or possibly Schweidnitz or the battalion in question was promoted/transferred causing confusion. Looked in Nafziger orbats but doesn't seem to help clarify the situation.
